QUESTION: We are having problems with cases reopening and not moving the information over and/or creating a new case number that is not associated with the old one.
When you reopen a file, it is assigned a new case number and the following information is transferred to the new case:
Everything from the case details page will carry over
Documents, photos and video will transfer to the reopened case file
The following is not automatically carried over into the newly reopened case file
The case notes, reports and billing do not carry over into the new opening.
You can search the old openings case notes in the new opening by selecting “All opening” under “notes from”.
You can do the same thing for the reports by selecting “from all assignment” under “report”.
